Company Biographies

My name is Nikkii Mclusky, I am the founder of FreeSpirit Dance Company, our Artistic Director is Libby Battaglia, renowed dancer and teacher and the company is in association with her school: The Libby Battaglia School of Performing Arts. I have recently graduated with a BA(Hons) Degree in Dance specialising in release technique and choreography. It is a mission of mine to bring dance up to date in Lincolnshire, creating exhilarating performance opportunities for future graduates, aspiring young dancers and collaborative artists. FreeSpirit Youth Dance will be performing alongside the company and regular platforms and theatres throughout the year. I am a Dance and Drama student at Lincoln University, and would love to go into teaching dance and drama or dance and drama therapy.

Being a part of 'Fade to Black' has given me so much more confidence in my dancing ability, and has definately opened my view about working as a performer because I Loved every minute of it!

Nikki had been an inspiration and given me a insight into different choreographic devises. Which i believe has improved my choreography. THANKS!!!

I am a dance student at the University of Lincoln. I have danced for many years before coming to Lincoln to continue my studies. I am very much a contemporary based dancer and I wish to develop my choreography skills further in the future.

Performing in 'Fade to Black' offered me a lot of experience as a dancer and a performer. It got me thinking outside the box and the hard work produced amazing results.

By working with FreeSpirit Dance Company, it constantly pushed me to the next level, and i feel because of this I am ever improving.

Lucy Rowland. Aged 20.

I am a 2nd year dance student at the University of Lincoln and i have been fortunate enough to partake in two of the FreeSpirit Dance Company productions. The most recent was that of 'Fade to Black' - a dark tale portrayed through a brilliant and inspiring whirlwind of choreographic devices. This specific performance was choreographed by Nikki Mclusky. Through working with the company over the past two years I feel i have grown as an individual and most importantly as a Dancer. The Company are encouraging and literally 'Free Spirited'.

It has truly been an honor to work with Nikki over the past two years and I would do anything to have the opportunity to work with her Company again.
